metal is a ''branch'' of rock...an evolution if u want..anyway i m listening to both rock and metal, ppl dont need to listen to only one kind of music, because this way the dont learn anything about music at all. Well thats my opinion, maybe i m wrong.

I don't see it as Metal vs Rock but as Metal&Rock vs all others
Metal now is more mainstream so its obvious why it has more fans Allthought these music types seem familiar , allthought metal is rock evolved you can't just say metal is better than rock or the oposite because different rules aply to each one of them Many rock bands that sound very light these days they were quite revolutionary heavy at their time and there was nothing before rock to help it evolve , it was only ispiration For metal it was an easier path to glory ps. This is true, but I'm pretty sure if there was a vote on Rock & Metal vs all the others, Rock & Metal would surely win! This way there is some debate. Well, I'm still torn between the 2. I forgot what I voted for, but right now I'm listening to David Bowie, so that's rock. But next I'll be listening to Metallica and that's metal! I listen to all types of musik But i must say i prefer Metal rather than Rock!
